A vacancy has arisen for a part time Parish Warden.

This role is 10 – 15 hours per week, carried out seasonally across the year.

Hourly Rate – the hourly rate for this role is £10.19.  In addition, the post holder will be eligible to join the Parish Council’s Local Government Pension Scheme.

Each year, Binfield Parish Council considers requests for grants from local organisations. These funds are allocated on the following factors: budget available; proposed use(s) of grant; number and age groups of members; and need, based on amount of money already in funds.

If you wish to be considered for a grant this year, please complete the application form.

Closing Date: 16 December 2016 for review in January 2017

Applications received after this date will not be considered until June 2017

The annual event to switch on the Christmas Tree lights this year is at Roebuck green, junction of Foxley Lane/Terrace Road South (opp the new Daruchini Brasserie).  Join us from 6.00pm for carol singing and the grand switch on at 6.30pm with local sportswoman Amber Hill, a Binfield resident who represented Team GB at the Rio Olympics!  Refreshments will be served afterwards at Moor Close as guests of Newbold College.

   Binfield Community BBQ Open for bookings    23 March, 2016

Community groups and organisations can now have access to the brand spanking new Binfield Community BBQ.  Book via the Parish Website.  This BBQ has been purchased through a grant from Binfield Parish Council but is being owned and managed by a collection of volunteers from the Binfield Football and Cricket Clubs and the Scouts!    Alzheimer's Society Befriending Service    31 July, 2015

The Alzheimer’s Society has recently launched a new befriending service in East Berkshire for people living with dementia. The service aims to reduce social isolation as people with dementia are more likely to struggle with loneliness and depression.  Volunteer befrienders offer companionship and social contact and are carefully matched with people depending on their personality and interests to support them to continue to do the things they enjoy and feel part of the community.    Superfast Broadband Upgrade in Binfield    30 July, 2015

Superfast Berkshire is a County project that forms part of the national initiative to expand superfast broadband to areas that are deemed “commercially non viable” by the private sector.

   Neighbourhood Plan consultation continues    23 June, 2015

The consultation for the Binfield Neighbourhood Plan continues.  Our next event is at Jock's Lane Community Centre, Jocks Lane, RG42 2BH, on Saturday 27 June between 2 and 4.30pm.  Come and talk to the team about the policies and learn more of what a neighbourhood plan can do and the process to achieve it.

We encourage everyone with an interest in Binfield to look at the plan and make their comments.  This can be done online from the Neighbourhood Plan page on this website - click Response form - or download a word document from the Documents section under neighbourhood plan.  If you know people who would prefer a paper copy to fill in, call this office on 01344 454602 and we will make sure they receive one.  Deadline for comments, 5pm on Monday 10 August.
